Review: Neon Indian – Psychic Chasms
by admin on Oct.05, 2009, under Reviews
The poorly named Neon Indian has managed to create a dreamy, saccharine sweet album that encapsulates lazy, youthful summers perfectly. Synthetic and sweet, no one element overpowers another, with vocal, synthesizers and drums coming together to make a smooth mix that is calm and calculated.
Lyrically, the album holds onto one emotion through out the entire album, which makes the album easy to listen through, although a bit boring on repeat listens. Musically, the washed out synths work perfectly with the Alan Palomo’s vocals, creating atmospheric, colorful songs that flow together to create a very solid album. B+
